Thomas Castillo began his career at a national accounting firm that provides a broad range of services to hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds and high net worth individuals. He later moved to a Family Office where he provided tax and accounting services exclusively for a California based family with assets exceeding $1 Billion. Tom was in charge of accounting and tax for multiple entities at the Family Office, including a seed-stage venture capital fund. Tom's experiences equipped him with a deep appreciation for entrepreneurs: he went to practice in his home town of Santa Cruz with the vision of working with and helping fellow entrepreneurs succeed in the marketplace.
Tom has deep roots in Santa Cruz. His Grandfather, Tom Elward, attended Santa Cruz High in the 1950's before starting his own biotech services business in Soquel, and his Great Uncle, Kenneth Elward, practiced public accountancy in Santa Cruz long before Tom was ever thought of. Tom was born and raised in Soquel, California. He graduated Cum Laude from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (accounting). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA). He lives in Soquel with his wife Lori and daughter, Penelope.
Cristian Gonzalez has extensive experience in public and private practice serving high net worth individuals and investment partnerships across the San Francisco Bay Area. Cristian’s expertise includes individual, partnership and corporate taxation, as well as estate planning and private foundation accounting. Cristian brings his expertise to residents and small businesses of Santa Cruz, Monterey & Santa Clara Counties with the goal of building long-term, meaningful relationships.
Cristian was born and raised in Salinas, California where he attended Hartnell Community College before transferring to Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo. Cristian earned his degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Cal Poly, graduating magna cum laude. Cristian volunteers a portion of his time as the Controller for a private foundation that promotes science and technology. Cristian is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA).
Brandon’s expertise includes individual, partnership and corporate taxation, as well as investment partnership fund accounting and taxation. Brandon has extensive experience working in the public accounting industry, especially as it pertains to investment partnerships. He spent several years as a manager at some of the nation’s most prestigious public accounting firms that service the alternative investment industry but has since shifted his focus to individuals and small businesses.
Brandon has a passion for working with small businesses and entrepreneurs across many disciplines with varying levels of experience. He values teamwork and has a penchant for listening to clients’ issues while proposing effective solutions. Brandon graduated with honors from California State University East Bay. He is a member of the California Society of CPAs as well as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. When he’s not working, Brandon has many interests including snowboarding, ice hockey and fishing. He also volunteers his time in the Walnut Creek area. A couple of his favorite charities include Habitat for Humanity International and Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation.
